While you are here reading this I want to take the opportunity to welcome you and introduce myself.
I am a psychotherapist and counsellor based in Dublin. I have spent my entire career, working with people; in groups, one to one and in teams. I came from a financial services background initially where I worked with people who were going through some of the most desperate times in their lives. I worked with clients and helped see them through financial and emotional difficulties. Before training as a psychotherapist I qualified in stress management, negotiationskills and event management to name a few.
It is very normal to experience some kind of distress or struggle in life. However, high anxiety and stress can spill into all areas of our lives and hold us back. Sometimes we need help to make a change and it can really help to talk to someone. My focus is on promoting a healthy life by helping people work on stress management, mental wellbeing, self-acceptance and emotional health in a holistic way.
My specialised interests include relationships, family issues, non-traditional relationships, sexuality, LGBT, gender identity, loneliness, grief and loss, career issues and job stress, self-esteem and self-confidence, anxiety and emotional difficulties.
I am a psychodynamic integrative humanistic psychotherapist. This means I do not have a one size fits all style. I have been trained in many different schools of psychotherapy and counselling and so I love working with people and developing a style of therapy that is specific to each individual client. I find it very rewarding when psychotherapy brings about a deeper understanding and overall healthier life. A healthy mind and attitude is as important as a healthy body.
At Acora I offer outside hours therapy which you can work around your busy life. I understand well that financial difficulties cause a lot of stress and I do not want people to feel they cannot afford the help they may want; I offer reduced cost counselling and invite clients to meet me for a free consultancy session so that any questions can be answered.
I want to thank you for your on-going support and look forward to building on this practice and creating more awareness around integrated holistic wellness.
In the meantime if you have any thoughts or questions feel free to contact me or check out the website, the Facebook page, 083 853 2459 or by email AcoraTherapy@gmail.com.
